We verify digital terrestrial television coverage (DVB-T and DVB-T2 aka Freeview) and are able conduct field strength measurements at heights up to 10m AGL. We can assist with Freeview coverage surveys, investigate viewer transmitter preference and can analyse coverage quality and service availability in marginally served locations.
For the past few years, the UK has been involved in the most complex change to television broadcasting witnessed for a generation. Part of this huge engineering project is to ensure that viewers can still enjoy all of their television services once the analogue transmissions have been switched off. We have been involved in this project since 2007 and have conducted technical studies for Ofcom and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy regarding the switch to digital only terrestrial television services.
Until 2021, more engineering work will be undertaken to free up more spectrum for mobile and other uses. This is referred to as 700MHz clearance. The map indicates the dates this will occur in different regions;
