GTech Surveys Limited was formed in 2006. Its founder, Gareth Phillips BEng (Hons) MIET, graduated from Liverpool University and joined a graduate training scheme at Arqiva (formally BBC Transmission / Crown Castle / National Grid Wireless). For 6 years, he was a member of the Spectrum / Radio Planning Division at Arqiva, and was involved in many broadcast and television reception survey projects. He has had extensive broadcast training with the IET, BBC, Crown Castle International, Crown Castle UK Ltd, National Grid Wireless, Cable & Wireless and Arqiva.
GTech Surveys Limited is a consultant member of the Trade Association for Content Delivery – (Confederation of Aerial Industries Ltd – CAI) and the RDI – the digital sector’s professional body and trade organisation. We are listed on Constructionline and are verified as an Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) member by Safety Management Advisory Services (SMAS), making us compliant with the industry standard PAS 91:2013 + A1:2017. Professional broadcast trained project engineers deliver and supply Markel (UK) Limited insured technical products to support planning applications,
discharge planning conditions (including S106 Agreements) and for due
diligence to provide risk assessments and interference mitigation
solutions for proposed developments.
We are able to undertake highly specialised technical and signal reception work. During 2009, we undertook nationwide television signal reception survey work for the The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), now known as The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. We conducted nationwide house visits to assess antenna system performance. Additional information on this project can be found here. Between 2013 and 2015, we undertook nationwide TV and 4G signal survey reception work for Restore TV and Ofcom, to better understand the impacts of the UK’s recently introduced 4G (LTE) mobile phone networks.
